Well, sometimes you don't get to choose exactly how your life story goes...
Unfortunately, right now Cassandra and I are separated, its a bummer and its a bit of a story.  I thought that the PCT was the best thing that we ever did for our marriage and came away feeling so good about things, but I guess I was wrong.  Anyway, I don't want to get into that here, but it's a bummer for anyone who has been following our blog.

So Cassandra is in the Chicago area now and as i'm learning to accept this current situation, the thought of hiking again has filled my mind.  The Appalachain Trail is a very social trail and I think that is one of the things that would be helpful right now.  I also feel closest to God when I am out in His creation, so this seems like a perfect opportunity to process, think and reflect.  I don't have all the answers and i realize that i'm not supposed to have them all either.  I'll be heading out that way this week to drop Cassandra's stuff off and let her drive the van for the summer and fall, I hope it doesn't break down on her, well actually I hope that it doesn't break down on me on my way out there.

Rich and Cindy have graciously offered again to be my support team, although this time it will be much easier.  I've only packed three boxes, mainly for shoes and snacks, as the AT has many more town stops available.  I honestly haven't done a lot of planning for this trip, but I know that its going to be a great experience.

So here's to another adventure...
